Dr Sam Khan has been an honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester and Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Leicester since 2024. She qualified at Manchester Medical School in 2010, and undertook an NIHR academic foundation post in North Yorkshire, academic clinical fellowship and lectureship in Leicester and a post-CCT fellowship in thoracic oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada.

She treats patients with lung and colorectal cancers. She is a member of the IASLC multidisciplinary clinical science committee, royal college of physicians question writing group for the speciality certificate in medical oncology and recently completed tenure as a member of the experimental cancer medicine centres junior investigator network steering group. Her research interests include early phase clinical studies, investigator led studies, and translational research.
